BERKELEY (CBS SF) – An Oakland man was arrested for having a loaded/hid gun following a foot chase with a Berkeley officer Tuesday evening, police stated Wednesday.
The 27-year-old man was noticed shortly after 9:40 p.m. driving a white sedan south on Fifth Road. When an officer drove towards the car, the driving force sped away towards College Village in Albany, the place officers had been searching for a car that had been concerned in a housebreaking, in keeping with police.
A separate officer inside College Village noticed the person crash his sedan right into a parked car close to Kinkead Manner and Purple Oak Avenue.
The person ran when the officer approached him, police stated, ignoring instructions to cease. The officer chased him and noticed the person drop a metallic object as he was working, in keeping with police.
After catching the suspect and retracing his path, police stated officers discovered that the steel object was a loaded gun.
The person was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and run, resisting arrest, carrying a loaded/hid gun, violating parole and weapons-related offenses.
